Abu Simbel Temple is a miracle from the past

Introduction

 Abu Simbel Temple which is located in the south of Egypt is really considered one of the ancient history miracles. It is one of the most wonderful monuments in Egypt. We will learn more about Abu Simbel Temple and how it is wonderful through this article. Let's start.

How it was built? 

The Egyptian king Ramses II carved this statue in the mountain around 1264 Before Christ Era. This temple is famous for its four big wonderful statues. These statues makes the temple looks fantastic. Although one of these statues was damaged in the past by an earthquake, its remains still there on the ground. It took about twenty years to be built. This temple is one of the grandest and greatest achievements by king Ramses II and it is of Egypt's most valuable treasures.The temples of Ramses in Nubia were special. Because they were  carved out of the rock, These temples were carved directly into the mountain. The ancient Egyptians carved them. They didn't built them.

Abu Simbel Temple lies in Abu Simbel village, Aswan , upper Egypt. It stands on the western bank of Lake Nasser. You can travel to Aswan in different ways . Just take express train from Cairo to Aswan or if you want to arrive in a short time , take a plane to Aswan. There is an international airport in Aswan.

Ramses The Great

 king Ramses the second was called the Great Builder. He built statues which still stands here in Egypt and shows the greatness and majesty of Egypt's civilization. King Ramses built four statues nearly 20 metres tall for every one. Each statue has a crown to look beautiful. king Ramses II , the king of Upper and Lower Egypt.In a remote part of southern Egypt, there were two mountains, one depicting the god Horus in the "Maha" region and the other depicting the goddess "Hathor," the lady of the Ishk region.The temples of Ramses in Nubia were described as being cut out of the rock, implying that they were carved straight into the mountain and not erected., Wadi al-Saba', al-Durr, all of which are inside modern-day Egyptian boundaries, and the Aksha Temple, which is in modern-day Sudan.

Achievements

 Ramses' efforts in ancient Nubia were different from those in the rest of Egypt, and ancient Nubia was separated between upper and lower Nubia. The majority of Lower Nubia is in Egypt, while the remainder is in modern-day Sudan. Ramses, like previous rulers before him, including Emperor Amenhotep III, centred temple construction on Lower Nubia.

Small Temple of Queen Nefertari:

 The temple of Queen Nefertari is located 100 metres north of the major temple and was carved out of the mountain's rocks.The ancient Egyptians called it "the clean mountain" or "the northern mountain."Locals used to gather to this mountain because they believed it housed the goddess Hathor's spirit, and King Ramses rewarded the people's faith in Abu Simbel by building a temple dedicated to it. He adored both his wife, Queen Nefertari, and the god Hathor.
